Russian officer's saber "shashka" dragoon, pattern 1881/1909 with rapier

Steel head, polished, long. 85.5 cm' wide at the root 3.3 cm, with a bend of 2 cm, concave ground on both lobes into a broad armor and two dorsal furrows, ending in a short, flat double-edged feather with a centric dagger. On the flat cap, separated by a prominent sill, the controller's mark in the form of the letter "A" is stamped on the outer side. Below, on the pledge, is etched the monogram of Emperor Nicholas II under the imperial crown. On the inner lobe is the imperial coat of arms of the Russian Empire - a two-headed Eagle under the imperial crown, with the coat of arms of Moscow on the chest and the coats of arms of the provinces on the wings. On the back etched in decorative Cyrillic letters the name of the factory "ЗЛАТ. ОР. ФАБР."
Handle binding closed, brass. Cross-bowed yoke, with a single bail decorated with a relief chiseled ornament in the form of laurel leaves. The rear arm sloped downward, ending in a circular, openwork teardrop. On the hilt a stamped feature of the controller - "A" under the crown. Oval head in the form of a short hood closed from the top screwed on the stem of the head with an oval cap decorated with a chiseled floral ornament. The cap is decorated on the edge with an ornament of laurel leaves, surrounding an oval medallion with a fine, pea-glazed background with the monogram of Emperor Nicholas II. Wooden shaft, transversely notched in notches, widened in the middle part.
Wooden scabbard, covered with brown leather, with a seam on the inner side. Neck of brass sheet ended at the lower edge with an applied, convex ring with a notched entablature on the inner side. A riffle in the shape of a similar convex ring with a fixed link, located on the convex side of the scabbard, in which a movable support wheel is placed, additionally fixed with a screw on the underside. The scabbard is made of brass plate, attached to the scabbard with a copper pin.
